Lidija Gačnik Gombač

Lidija Gačnik Gombač (born 20 June 1961 in Ljubljana) has so far issued three lyrical-prose collections – Magdalena (Aleph, 1987),  Jajce (Mondena, 1994)  and Pokrajina vrtnic (Litera, 2011) – for the last one she won Glazerjeva listina Award.

She also wrote two fairy tales –  Grah v otroškem vrtcu (Litera, 2008) and Kam gredo spat tovornjaki (Pivec, 2010). She was included in two anthologies: Čas kratke zgodbe (Antology of Slovene short stories) and Kliči me po imenu (selection of short stories by Slovenian female authors). She has translated Tsvetaeva’s prose into Slovene language, compiled in a book called Ujeti duh, and her novel Povest o Sonječki.
