Andrej Medved

Andrej Medved (1947) has published as many as forty-nine poetry collections, receiving the award of the Prešeren foundation, the “Čaša nesmrtnosti” award, the Jenko award and the Veronika award for these collections. Apart from poetry he is also the author of essays and dissertations on aesthetics, art theory and philosophy, as well as working as a translator from French (Artaud, Bataille, Michaux), German (Arp, Heim) and Italian (Pasolini). He is the editor of the Hyperion and Artes editions, which are dedicated to original and translational poetry and theory, and a museum counsellor at the Coastal galleries of Piran. In 2013 he received the Valvasor Award for his achievements in the field of museology.
