Aleš Gabrijelčič is an architect at the architectural studio ARHITEKTURA, where he works together with his brother Boštjan and his father Peter Gabrijelčič. He obtained his Master’s degree from the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Ljubljana, where he also works as a teaching assistant. He took part of his studies in Madrid and, after graduating, lived and worked there for a short period.
In 2024 and 2025, he participated as an external guest lecturer in the course Architectural Design II at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering and Architecture at the University of Maribor. Together with Peter and Boštjan Gabrijelčič, he received the ZAPS Golden Pencil Award in 2014, followed by a nomination for the Plečnik Medal in 2020, and nominations for the EU Mies Award 2022.
For many years, he has collaborated with numerous Slovenian media outlets as an author of articles and columns. Since 2025, he has been a member of the Executive Board of the Association of Architects Ljubljana.
He has also co-organized or moderated several roundtable discussions on architecture, sustainable mobility, and urbanism, including: How to Act in Space?, roundtable at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Ljubljana, November 2024; School of the City within the City 02: Mobility of Open Cities, roundtable, Plečnik’s Trafika at Vegova Street, Ljubljana, April 2025; MOST – FOŠA – TROGIR, roundtable, House of Architecture Oris, Zagreb, May 2025; Celje with a Clear Vision Ahead, roundtable, Central Library Celje, September 2025; and Attention! Hot Spot! 4th Debate Evening: Infrastructure Solutions, Gallery Kresija, Ljubljana, November 2025.
