Alenka Jovanovski is an essayist, translator, editor, literary historian and a poet. Till 2010/2011 she taught at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana and at Faculty of humanistics (University of Nova Gorica). She was an editor of edition Litterae Slovenicae that published translations of Slovenian contemporary poetry, prose and drama into various languages. She authored a monography A Dark Gene: Aesthetic thorugh a Prim of Mystical Experience (2001) and published translations of contemporary Italian literature (Pavese, Calvino). A collection of poems Trausers for Dži will be issued in 2012.
