Klemen Pisk, Slovenian author, translator and musician, was born in Kranj in 1973. As a poet, he entered the Slovenian literary scene with his first collection Labas vakaras (Good Evening, 1998), followed by Visoko in nagubano prapočelo (High and Wrinkled Primordial Substance, 2000) and Mojster v spovednici (Master in the Confessional Box, 2002). His selected poetry was translated into Polish (Tych kilka słów, 2005, with an enclosed CD of author’s chansons) and Slovakian (Pustovník a vlk, 2009); he also writes radio plays – Lahko noč, Matija Čop (Good Night, Matija Čop), performed in 1998, short stories – Pihalec (The Blower), 2007, and literary criticism – Stihi pod nadzorom (The Poems under Control, 2004). He translates from Polish and Lithuanian – Pope John Paul II., J. Pilch; S. Parulskis; the anthology of Lithuanian short stories Zgodbe iz Litve (Stories from Lithuania), and has edited a comprehensive selection of poetry by Czesław Miłosz – Zvonovi pozimi (Bells in Winter, 2008). As a singer, guitarist and author of most songs of band Žabjak Trio, he published CDs Doktor piska počasni sving (The Doctor Pipes the Slow Swing) and Aristokrat (Aristocrat, 2004). His important performances abroad include those in Cracow, Gdansk, Vilnius, Warsaw, Katowice, Helsinki, Brno, Prague, Klagenfurt and Bratislava.
