Andreja Štepec was born in the summer of 1986 in Jesenice (Slovenia). She has a Master’s degree in Italian language and literature and is a professor of pedagogy and andragogy. Her poetry has been published in magazines such as I.D.I.O.T., Sex Zin and LUD Literatura, and translated into German, Russian, English, Albanian, Hungarian, Czech and Spanish. She has performed at various festivals across Europe, from Prague, Vienna, Vaduz, České Budějovice, London to Brașov in Romania. Her poetry debut Edit Paf (2018, LUD Šerpa) was chosen for a critical discussion at the Pranger Festival in 2019. With the same publishing house, LUD Šerpa, she published her second poetry book Jesenožki (jst sm tok utrujena) (Jesen-pen-knives (i’m so wiped out)) in 2022. She also translates from the Italian and English languages and creates video poetry, for example a compilation of poems titled Jesenožki (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujv5VrcpSqc&ab_channel=EP), and a separate video Fnt moj, bodi moj dobar klastrfak (Hey Boy, Be My Good Clusterfuck: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDd-qtr0WBo&ab_channel=EP). She lives and works in Ljubljana, but she often returns to her hometown Jesenice.
