22th gathering of poets, critics and translators of poetry
Radovljica, Ljubljana, Kranj; 21st-27th of September 2025
We welcome you to gather once again in front of the pranger – in 2025, it will be the medieval stocks between the pillars of the Mali House on Linhart Square in Radovljica, the only ones of their kind in Slovenia. Let us gaze into the far-reaching worlds of poetry!
The 22nd edition of the criticism part of the Pranger Festival will be held in Radovljica, while the Little Pranger – ELA and the SWA Stritar Award ceremony are staying in Rogaška Slatina, to be held on the 31st of May 2025.

After the discussion and lunch we will regather and see the old city centre and Linhart’s Room and the Museum of Apiculture in the Radovljica Municipality Museums. Our guide to Radovljica will be Sašo Gašperin.
19:00, Graščina baroque hall: Poetry & music & socialising at the pranger

The repertoire includes works from the middle ages (12th and 13th century) from author Hildegard of Bingen, the work Minneleich of Meister Alexander (Der wilde Alexander) and a poem of Pierre de Blois in Old French. Translations: Domen Marinčič and dr. Alen Širca

Farewell to the 22nd Pranger: A mooring of souls under Begunjščica
Partner: Begunje Tourist Association. In case of rain, the event will be held in the hall of ATL Library, Vurnikov trg 1.
Chosen language: Maltese, translation collection of poems from Pranger’s poets in the language of Malta. Recordings of Maltese translations of individual poems will be heard at the poetry readings at Vodnikova domačija, Radovljica’s Graščina and Kamen Castle (read by Abigail Ardelle Zammit).
