

Tjaša Mohar graduated in English and French from the University of Ljubljana in 2004. She defended her PhD thesis on Alice Munro’s short fiction in 2016 at the University of Maribor. Since 2016 she has been teaching literature courses at the Department of English and American Studies at the University of Maribor. Her research interests include Canadian literature, short fiction, modern novel, literary translation, and pandemic literature. She is the representative for Slovenia at the Central European Association for Canadian Studies, which aims to promote Canadian culture and literature in Central European countries. Tjaša is also a literary translator, translating from English and French. Her first translated book was the Gouncourt-winning novel Le Soleil des Scorta. She has also translated three short story collections by the Nobel Prize-winning author Alice Munro. Her most recent translations include children’s books.
