
Jernej Županič (1982), is a graduate of philosophy and comparative literature, an author and translator. His translated authors include J. M. Coetzee, David Foster Wallace, Dave Eggers, Lydia Davis and C. D. Wright – the latter three having earned him the 2017 Radojka Vrančič Award for young translators. Županič has published four books: poetry collections Tatar (SKS Best Debut 2017 nomination) and Empire-Dismantling Device (Orodje za razgradnjo imperija), as well as novels Mammoths (Mamuti, 2019 Critics’ Sieve Award) and Behemoth (Behemot, 2020 Critics’ Sieve nomination). Tatar had been discussed at the Pranger Festival as well, while a couple of years prior, when he still worked as a critic, Županič had also been one of the Festival’s selectors.
