Born in 1975 in Koper. Self-employed in the field of culture, author of three poetry books, editor and publisher. His main activity is translating from Italian literature and he is one of the most established Slovenian literary translators of his generation; his translation opus currently includes 34 books of all literary genres, 10 staged theatre texts and over 200 other publications (among other authors: I. Svevo, I. Calvino, P. P. Pasolini, D. Campana, A. Tabucchi, C. Pavese, D. Fo, C. Goldoni, E. Barba, P. V. Tondelli, P. Cappello, F. Berardi Bifo, F. T. Marinetti, R. Esposito, E. Erba, F. Buffoni, N. Milani …). He often participates in international translation workshops and works in translators’ residencies; he also received several work and residency scholarships. He received the Golden Bird Award in 2011 for his translation of P. P. Pasolini’s novel Petrolio; for his translation opus he was awarded in 2016 the National Award for Translation of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Italy, as the only Slovenian translator so far. His poetry was translated into twenty foreign languages and included in some anthologies in Slovenia and abroad.
