Erika Vouk

Erika Vouk is a poet and translator, who lives and works in Maribor. For her literary work she received Glazer in 1997, the award of city Maribor for the cultural achievements. Her poetic opus consists of seven collections of poetry: Bela Evridika(White Eurydice (1984), Anima (1990), Belo drevo (the White Tree (2000), Opis slike (Description of the image (2002), Album(2003), Valovanje (Wave motion (2004), Rubin (2008) and Lasa pur dir (2013). In 2007 she published a collection of selected poems Z zamahom ptice neka roka slika.

She is the author of numerous translations, especially drama (Wedekind, Goethe, Müller), mostly for the SNG Maribor. Her poetry and translations of youth literature have been published in several magazines and newspapers. For collection Opis slikeshe received the Jenko Prize (2002) and in 2003 the Veronika’s Award. In 2002 she became a Knight of poetry in Poetical tournament.
